Maxine who is a member of the Young Company said “It’s really exciting to have a new play written for us and the 3 other youth theatres, it’s completely unique and it will be interesting to see how different the productions are. We are exploring movement and every day we up the level of intensity and explore new ideas.”

The Blue Road is performed by a 16 strong cast of 14 - 20 year olds along with 3 young stage managers who are all part of the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Young Company.

The Theatre Royal Plymouth Young Company offers workshops and performance opportunities throughout the year for 5 – 21 year olds. The company work with professional practitioners to develop numerous skills for the stage or behind the scenes.

Jane Pawson, Young People’s Producer said: “Working alongside 3 other theatre’s who share a passion for quality work for young performers has been inspiring. The project has aimed to put young people’s voices at the heart of a new play. We are the final group to perform this new work and we can’t wait to get started.”
