Plymouth Pavilions are kicking those January blues into touch with the announcement that Lee Evans will now play a massive six nights in Plymouth this August, adding another date to his already sold out run of 5 nights, breaking his own records at the city centre venue!

Established as one of Britain’s best-loved and biggest comedy stars, Lee Evans has captured audiences’ and critics’ imaginations with his irrepressible physicality and disarming charm, and this is no more so true than right here in Plymouth. Lee was last in the city in 2011 warming up for his epic Roadrunner tour seeing him tour over 50 dates in the UK. That time around he spent 5 nights in Plymouth, a record that was not topped until Michael McIntyre rolled into town to warm up for his 2012 UK and Ireland tour which saw him perform 6 dates at the Pavilions.

The shows are set to bring approx 9,000 visitors from outside of Plymouth into the city over the week long run, in addition to the 4,000 city dwellers also booked, meaning great things for the city’s tourism economy at such a peak time this Summer.

Marketing Manager Dawn Sloggett commented, ‘It’s such a coup for us to attract the big names on the comedy circuit and we are very excited about Lee adding a sixth date with us. Realistically he is probably one of the only stand-up comedians on the circuit big enough to top Michael McIntrye’s 6 date run at the Pavilions in 2012, and the demand has been phenomenal! Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans and Peter Kay make up the top 3 highest grossing stand up comedians and to have secured such long runs from two of them, rivaled only by their stints at the 02, is amazing! Perhaps we’ll go on to complete the hat-trick with Peter Kay in the future and well and truly stamp Plymouth on the high profile comedy circuit!’

Lee will be performing at the Pavilions from Thursday 7 – Tuesday 12 August 2014. Tickets for his sixth date are on sale now!

Tickets cost: £33 (price includes a £3 per ticket booking fee)
