Hospital Poem goes online

A poem written about Derriford Hospital by Plymouth's Poet Laureate, Mike Sullivan, has gone on line.

The board of Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust commissioned Mr Sullivan to write a 'warts and all' poem about the hospital.

The result is a work called "Bring Us Your Sick".

Mr Sullivan was recently a guest on Hospital Radio Plymouth during which he read the poem live on air.

The narration has now been added to the station's community audio page which is attracting a growing number of followers.

Station Manager, Andrew Hill, said, "With greater emphasis on home convalensence these days we introduced a community audio page in May last year to enable people at home to listen on demand to a variety of our programmes. This is proving quite popular with more than 2,200 unique listens to date. Mike's brilliant poem is one of the things trending on the site at the moment."
