After his epic performance amid the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean, Ludovico Einaudi is releasing his composition ‘Elegy for the Arctic’ as a brand new single on 11th November.  It will also be available on a new Deluxe Edition of his album ‘Elements’, out the same day on Decca Records.

In June, Einaudi performed ‘Elegy for the Arctic’ on a grand piano against the backdrop of the Wahlenbergbreen glacier (in Svalbard, Norway) to raise awareness of global warming. He wore a life-jacket and played without gloves in freezing temperatures on an artificial iceberg, specially built by Greenpeace as there was not enough real ice left in the area where he was due to perform. The haunting and melancholic piece is inspired by the beauty of the Arctic and the threats it’s facing.

Fans can now own the track as it is being released as a digital single and also as a track on the new Special Edition of ‘Elements’ – his hit album which debuted at No.12 in the pop charts when it was released last year.  It is the first time Einaudi has ever released a deluxe boxset.

As well as ‘Elegy for the Arctic’, the Elements Special Edition will include three bonus piano variations, presented in a limited edition box.  It also contains an exclusive live DVD and 16 beautiful postcards also from the Elements world tour.

Einaudi is returning to the UK to perform a series of live shows and will be appearing at Plymouth Pavilions on Friday 18 November.
