Plymouth’s Barbican and Sutton Harbour are once again hosting a weekend of pirate themed fun (10-11 May).

Over the weekend, tall ship The Phoenix will be berthed in Sutton Harbour and families will be invited on board to get a taste of life as a pirate.

The famous Jonty Depp will be causing chaos on the cobbles and keeping an eye out for the Royal Navy guards! Other entertainment during the two days will include shanty bands, interactive weapon displays, Yo Ho Ho Pirate Puppet Show, stilt walkers, jugglers and face painting.

Competitions will be held for the best pirate fancy dress and a collect the clues with the Treasure Trail through The Barbican with your own pirate map.

Sarah O’Leary, Plymouth Waterfront Partnership Manger said: “We’re really looking forward to this weekend’s Pirate event and seeing multitudes of Pirates in the Historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour.  Now in its fourth year and funded by the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, this is one of the most successful and fun-filled family events of the year.”
