Ridgeway School in Plympton is calling on the talents of local school children to design its new logo.

From September 2016 the Moorland Road school will be known as Plympton Academy and the school will have a new uniform and logo to reflect this.

Lisa Boorman, principal at the school said; “We need a logo that reflects our new name and gives our school a sense of place.

“We are extremely proud to be part of the Plympton community and we’re looking for a logo to reflect this.”

The competition is open to Plympton primary school children and students of Ridgeway School and the school has worked with a professional design company, EMPRA to work-up a few ideas, to help get the creative juices flowing.

Designs with a file size of less than 2mb will need to emailed as picture files or .pdfs to plymptonacademylogo@empra.co.uk before the deadline of February 5th 2016. Alongside the winner having their work developed for use across the school there is also an additional prize of a child-friendly Kindle e-Reader.

Entries will also need to include the designer’s name, age and the name of the school they attend.

The chosen logo will be developed for use across all communications including the new uniform, school website, school buildings and printed material such as prospectuses.
