Staff and students at Plympton Academy have been collecting chocolate selection boxes and toiletries to donate to people across Plymouth this Christmas.

The donations were collected by Tom Saunders from the Salvation Army.

“Throughout the year we support people in Plymouth who are struggling,” he said. “Christmas can be a very difficult time for many people and these gifts from Plympton Academy will certainly be appreciated. The students should feel very proud of themselves.”

Student Aiden Symons aged 11 said: “There are lots of people who are less fortunate than us and it really good to be able to help them.”

Teacher Martin Edmonds said: “Our students and staff are always extremely generous in donating their time and money to helping others and we are very proud to be helping the good work of the Salvation Army.”
