Aquaplanet have just launched their paddleboards in Australia, and are now pleased to launch the Paddle to the moon competition! The competition runs from January to June 2023, with the collective goal of travelling 384.4 million meters by the end of the mission. If everyone decides to paddle together, the mission can be achievable by the end of June.

There is still plenty of time to get out on the water and join the competition. For first timers, the mission may lead to some people falling in love with the sport. Just don’t forget to stay safe, Aquaplanet have put together some handy top tips on staying safe out on the water to help new paddlers.

Why would people consider participating in Paddle to the moon?

The competition helps to bring together the paddleboard community to work together to achieve the distance to the moon. The competition also helps to promote healthy rivalry among paddlers, to win the prizes on offer!

Other benefits include:

- Making friends.

- Boosting mood.

- Better fitness goals.

- Lose weight.

- Better sleep.

- A reason to paddle.

- Improved SUP technique.

- Healthy competition.

- An adventure!

What are the prizes?

Paddlers who paddle the furthest by the end of the mission are in with a chance to win a £600 paddleboard, which is perfect for kickstarting a paddleboard hobby. To keep up the motivation during the mission, there are smaller prizes every month for the paddler who has travelled the furthest that month.

These smaller prizes will all be SUP themed, which will help enhance your SUP paddleboarding experience.

How do paddlers enter the mission?

It couldn’t be easier to enter the mission and paddle to the moon! To enter, paddlers need to track their progress on a SUP tracking app and upload it here. Just ensure over 500m has been paddled to qualify for the prizes.
