Stonehouse Ward hospital staff hold charity coffee morning
Staff from Stonehouse Ward will be holding a coffee morning on Saturday 22 June to raise money for Devon Freewheelers.
The charity coffee morning will be held at the Derriford Health and Leisure Centre on Saturday 22 June between 10am and 2pm and everyone is welcome for tea, coffee, cakes and to take a chance with a raffle.
Health Care Assistant, Helen Jackson said: “We wanted to host this event as a small way of saying ‘thank you’ to the service that the Devon Freewheelers provides and to help continue the service.
“The work that they do is invaluable to patients.”
Devon Freewheelers is a self-funding group of advanced motorcycle riders who work together to provide a free out-of-hours courier service, funded solely on public donations. The volunteers transport various urgent or emergency items such as blood platelets for transfusion and emergency medication by means of specially adapted marked motorcycles.
