A number of MPs will be joining Plymouth Sutton and Devonport MP Oliver Colvile in a cricket match in aid of the Chestnut Appeal.

The match takes place on Saturday 11 August at the Plymouth Cricket Club at Mount Wise, starting at 2pm

Founded in 1999 by a team of consultant and a research nurse at Derriford Hospital, The Chestnut Appeal is a Plymouth-based charity that raises money for prostate cancer care across the region. The charity funds the very latest in treatments and technology that wouldn't be available without support and relies entirely on public donations.

The cricket match is likely to be a 40-over-per-side game. Oliver Colvile will be hosting the event and will be joined by MPs Penny Mourdant (Portsmouth North), Nigel Mills (Amber Valley), Toby Perkins (Chesterfield), Neil Parish (Honiton) and Andrew Bingham (High Peak).

In addition to raising funds for the Chestnut Appeal, they will be raffling a bottle of House of Commons whisky, a jar of limited edition Janner Jam and some Lantallack Apple Juice.
