Ward Williams Associates (WWA), Devon and Cornwall’s largest professional construction consultancy is just about to celebrate its 40th birthday.

In that time the business has gone from strength to strength, delivering services across a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects, for both public and private sectors clients. As well as offices in Truro and Plymouth, WWA have expanded out of the South West with bases in Gloucester, London and the Middle East.

Andy Snapes, Managing Director, said; “The key to our success has been long term client relationships and the consistent, high quality service that we provide. We have the most talented and dedicated staff, who provide sound professional advice, based on extensive knowledge of current practices and an in-depth understanding of the local marketplace”.

WWA’s project portfolio extends from modest domestic works, right through to multi-million pound international developments. Over the years they have had the opportunity to work on some exciting and innovative schemes for clients such as; Sainsbury’s, Rolls Royce, Ministry of Defence, Pendennis Superyachts, British Telecom, Duchy of Cornwall and the Saudi Arabian Government and Royal Family.
Some of their most notable projects include; the multi-award winning Media Centre at Lords Cricket Ground, the new canopy walkway at the Eden Project, and they are currently working on the World’s largest underground car park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WWA have had a presence in Devon since inception, with one of the founding offices originally based in Tavistock. Eight years ago the team relocated to The Crescent in Plymouth city centre and in 2011 the expanding office moved into newly renovated premises in the Mills Bakery at the Royal William Yard.

The Plymouth office now employs over twenty staff across all disciplines and is involved in projects across the South West and beyond.

Andrew Gilbert, Director, said; “We are very proud of our success here in the Plymouth office, where we have doubled our turnover and added 5 new members of staff to the team within the last 12 months”.

“Plymouth is a city on the up, and that is reflected in the number of new projects that we are involved in. This includes; the redevelopment master plan at South Yard, Devonport and the new History Centre in the heart of Plymouth city centre”.

“We are also involved in projects right on our doorstep at the Royal William Yard, providing services on the Factory Cooperage conversion and the new Melville Hotel”.
