Following the launch of Burrington Business Park in October, the transformation of the former Hovis depot continues to create a buzz among those keen to join Plymouth’s newest business community.

Building work is well under way and the first of the show offices is finished, and will be unveiled at the next Open Day on Wednesday 27 November.

The tenants already signed up represent a broad range of businesses – including accountancy firms, an energy company and logistics specialists – but all share the desire to be located at the forefront of fresh business thinking in the region. And being among the first to secure offices and commercial units means that companies can dictate what they require from the space – the developers will incorporate their exact needs into the renovation process.

Nick Hellings, director of Lifestyle Lettings, was one of the first to secure new office space at Burrington Business Park, attracted by the prospect of a new way of doing business in Plymouth. He said: “As I’ve built up the company and taken on staff, it’s become clear that we’ve outgrown home working. But when a business is growing, it’s actually about more than just needing more space; it’s about accessing networking opportunities and making the right connections. And that is exactly what we will be tapping into at the park thanks to Thrive IN, a new business concept which is launching at Burrington Business Park.”

As well as offering a multi-functional mix of contemporary, fully serviced executive offices and meeting rooms, plus extensive provision for warehousing and distribution needs, Burrington Business Park will be home to the new ‘Thrive IN’ concept, which will provide professional, inspiring work environments in strategic locations across the UK. Each Thrive IN centre throughout the country will provide the same facilities, but will respond to the unique business needs of the different locations – being a member at one site will allow access to the national network. The concept also incorporates free networking events for members, along with training and mentoring from a range of business experts, creating a vibrant business culture that encourages and promotes communication, interaction and collaboration with other like-minded businesses across the region.

In addition to offering first-class business facilities, the developers are in discussion with potential regional partners to provide high-quality amenities such as an on-site gym/yoga/pilates studio plus a café specialising in healthy-eating options.

"Burrington Business Park will provide companies in Plymouth with the opportunity and flexibility to compete on a national level,” said developer Mark Edworthy. “The design and facilities of the new show office demonstrates the level of quality and service that will be standard throughout. And with the added value of leisure and dining amenities on site, the park will provide everything required by a vibrant community, giving forward-looking companies more time to focus on doing business.”

With monthly packages starting from only £300 per calendar month, early viewing and reservation are highly recommended.

“Burrington Business Park is an attractive option for us due to the competitive and all inclusive rents on offer, but also culturally, which is very important. As we continue to expand, not only will we be in a professional environment to welcome clients, but we’ll be ideally placed to meet the people who will help us to grow in the right way. We are really looking forward to moving in and building relationships with all of the other businesses,” said Nick.
