Plymouth Argyle Football Club has appointed South West energy consultancy IU Energy as their official utilities partner following a competitive tender process.

Newly promoted Argyle have signed a two-year deal which will enable IU Energy use its national buying power to improve the performance of the club's spend on gas, electricity and water contracts.

The contract sees award-winning IU Energy extend its established association with the Greens which began in 2009. It also sees the Greens become even greener thanks to choosing more environmentally friendly sources as part of their deal.

In addition to utilities procurement for the club, both parties are exploring ways to introduce new technologies that will improve cost reductions on energy consumption.

Martyn Starnes, Chief Executive at Plymouth Argyle Football Club said: "We are very pleased to team up with IU Energy once again in a mutually supportive arrangement which enables them to improve our energy performance whilst enjoying our EFL campaigns over the next two seasons."

Duncan Banks, CEO at IU Energy, explained: "As part of Plymouth Argyle's trusted team of partners, we are determined to get the best results possible. We believe our knowledge and capability can contribute to more success for Argyle."

This latest appointment is further acknowledgement of IU Energy's growth in both market share and recognition of the quality of its advice. The company was recently awarded 'Best Energy Consultancy in South West' at the TELCA Awards 2017- the Oscars of the energy industry.
