Plymouth bookmakers raided by armed robbers

Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were seen running away from the scene of an armed robbery in Plymouth.

Two people wearing balaclavas entered the Coral Bookmakers on Wolseley Road at 8pm on Monday 9 May 2016.

One of the suspects held the door while the other threatened a lone female cashier with a knife.

Around £260 from the till was placed in a bag and both suspects ran away from the scene shortly after 8pm.

Two men, aged 24 and 26, from Plymouth, were arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery.

The 24-year-old man was released on police bail until 26 May pending further enquiries.

The 26-year-old man was released with no further action being taken against him.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw two people running away from the bookmakers at around 8.10pm, and anyone else who has any information that could assist with the investigation.
