The team at Parkhurst Hill & Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants in Plymouth is supporting Jeremiah's Journey by signing up to take part in the children's charity's 20th anniversary fund raising campaign.

Now in its 20th year, Jeremiah's Journey, which works with children who have suffered bereavement or have someone close to them with a terminal illness, launched the JJ 20/20 campaign with the aim of enlisting 20 businesses from the Plymouth area to take part in 20 fun and exciting activities between now and October.

Clare Green, accounts senior at Parkhurst Hill & Thomas Westcott, explained why the firm wanted to get involved. She said: "Jeremiah's Journey does such incredible work for children and young people in and around Plymouth and we wanted to show our support and let the team there know how much we appreciate what they do.

"As one of the city's leading independent businesses we believe our participation can really help stir up even more support for the JJ 20/20 campaign and give them a boost for their 20th anniversary celebrations."

Jeremiah's Journey hopes its JJ 20/20 campaign will raise a total of £20,000 by the end of its 12-month duration, with teams of six taking part in fun and action-packed activities ranging from a "bring a Teddy to work" day through to sky-dives, danceathons, quiz nights and sporting challenges including the Plymouth half marathon and Plymouth 10k events.

"We're pulling out all the stops to raise as much as we possibly can for Jeremiah's Journey and are urging our clients and business contacts to, if they possibly can, dig deep and help us make this a huge success in 2017," added Clare.
