'Bedroom Tax' protest held in Plymouth City Centre

More than 50 people attended a protest in Plymouth on Saturday against a planned Government scheme dubbed the 'Bedroom Tax'.

One of dozens of protests across the country organised largely via social media and instigated by the political blogger Dr Eoin Clarke, the Plymouth protest, held in the Sun Dial, included local representatives of the Labour Party, the Socialist Party, Plymouth Uncut and trade unions Unison and Unite.

Calling for the scheme to be scrapped, protesters handed out leaflets and asked people to sign a petition.
