Nominations for the 2014 Devon Sports Awards are now open and, following the success of last year’s event, Active Devon is delighted to confirm its continued partnership with the Exeter Foundation in their delivery.

The awards will now be known as The Exeter Foundation Devon Sports Awards and will continue to recognise and celebrate all that is best about sport in Devon and the exceptional individuals and groups that make it happen.

Active Devon Chief Executive, Matt Evans said: “We are very excited about our continued partnership with The Exeter Foundation for this year’s awards which promises to further add to the profile of the event and make it an even bigger and better celebration of community sport in Devon. I’m sure that everyone involved in Devon’s sporting community will know a club, volunteer or performer whose achievements are worthy of recognition and I urge you to get those nominations in so that The 2014 Exeter Foundation Devon Sports Awards will be the best ever.”

This is Active Devon’s 11th Devon Sports Awards which can already count many successful and esteemed athletes amongst its award winners, such as Exeter Chiefs Rugby player Tom Johnson (2013 winner), Olympic Fencing Champion Gyorgy Felletar (2010 winner) and Robin Brew coach to Olympic silver medallist Heather Fell (2009 winner). Active Devon is proud to have teamed up with the Exeter Foundation a charity who have strong links with Exeter Chiefs. The ceremony will be a star-studded event held at Sandy Park stadium.

Chairman of the Exeter Foundation Tony Rowe said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that is great about local sport and raise money for good causes at the same time.”
