Devon’s Glazebrook House Hotel is never short of imagination and innovation, and this spring this luxurious boutique hotel presents a series of Epicurean Evenings to delight even the most discerning foodies.

Owner Pieter Hamman is excited to announce the stylish destination’s 2015 calendar of compelling and quirky events which showcases what Glazebrook does best, delicious food in a magical environment, always with an element of surprise.

On Thursday 26th March 2015, the Glazebrook will host a special Austrian/Bavarian night and will be joined by the owners of Loimer Winery, Stefanie and Fred Lobner. Visiting from their 150-year-old winery in the Langenlois region of Austria, diners will discover the secrets of great-tasting biodynamic wines whilst enjoying a wonderful Austrian/Bavarian themed five-course meal, matched perfectly to their selection of wines.

The menu, created by executive chef Ben Palmer, includes a starter of ‘Eintopf’, a smoked ham hock broth with white beans, roots, potatoes & herbs, served with traditional bauernbrot bread. A wiener schnitzel with sauerkraut and potato dumplings for main, Bavarian smoked cheeses, and a delicious dessert of authentic apple and rhubarb Strudel served with Bavarian cream.

Commenting on the evening, Stefanie Lobner from Loimer Winery says: “Austria boasts a selection of amazing wines, and for each of the five courses served during the evening, we have matched our wine to complement the flavours perfectly. One example is that we have paired our full bodied, yet light and fresh Kamptal Grüner Veltliner, from our ‘klassik’ range, with smoked trout paté, pickled & barbequed white asparagus and candied orange served with crostini.” Stefanie continues: “We are looking forward to participating in the Austrian/Bavarian night at the Glazebrook, as it gives people a chance to understand just how diverse Austrian and Bavarian food and wine is.” Stefanie and Fred will be talking about their wines during the evening.

Glazebrook continues to take diners on a gastronomic journey around the globe, with South African (21 May) and Spanish-inspired menus (July), a Sake Japanese evening in September and a vibrant Latin American theme in November.

With limited tickets available at £60 per person for these exciting events, booking is essential. Visit glazebrookhouse.com, call 01364 73322 or email enquiries@glazebrookhouse.com for more information.
