Portrait of Michael Foot goes on auction in aid of 100 years memorial

A portrait of the politician and lifelong Plymouth Argyle supporter Michael Foot is to be auctioned in aid of a memorial to him in Plymouth city centre.

The event is being held at Plymouth Council Chambers on Tuesday 23 July (6.30pm – 8.30pm) in celebration of 100 years since his birth. Members of the public are invite to attend from 6.30pm for a reception drink and nibbles.

Police hunt valuable stolen Lenkiewicz artwork

Police are investigating the theft of three valuable Robert Lenkiewicz paintings from a Plymouth home.

The offenders broke into the property in Mannamead Road between 8.30am and 9.10am yesterday (23 May) and escaped with the autographed artwork, valued at £5,700.
