Woman dies after flat fire in Plymouth

A woman who was injured as a result of a fire in King Street, Plymouth, in the early hours of Monday 15 September, has died.

The 42-year-old local woman passed away in Derriford Hospital on Tuesday 16 September. Her family has been informed.

Police hunt arsonist who endangered lives

Detectives are seeking an arsonist who put lives in danger by setting fire to a motorcycle underneath a block of Plymouth flats.

Police hunt motorcycle arsonist

Plymouth police are investigating after two motorcycles belonging to the same owner were targeted by an arsonist.

The first incident happened overnight on 20/21 February when a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle was set alight in Miles Mitchell Avenue, Eggbuckland. The green and white bike, valued at £5,749, was totally destroyed by the fire.

Block of flats evacuated after kitchen fire

A block of flats was evacuated yesterday following a kitchen fire on the fourth floor.

Two fire appliances from Greenbank, one from Camels Head and an aerial platform from Crownhill were mobilised.

The block of flats, on Lockyer Street, the Hoe, had to be evacuated while firefighters made the building safe.

Fire crews were called to Horn Lane in Plymstock on Saturday night after a large blaze was reported at a garage.
