Ivybridge dancers head to Swindon for regional U.Dance festival

Eight dancers from Ivybridge Dance Academy, based at Ivybridge Community College, have been selected to perform at the regional U.Dance Festival in Swindon on 26 February, with the opportunity to make it through to the national festival in July.

'Wally's Dance Party' will be holding an evening of Ballroom and Sequence Dancing to raise awareness and funds for those affected by asbestos related cancer.

Wally Wright who has organised the dance said, 'We are extremely grateful that the event has been kindly supported by the Lord Mayor of Plymouth Councillor Pauline Murphy and her consort Councillor Brian Vincent. 'Wally's Dance Party' Charity Tea Dance

An afternoon of dancing to music by 'Wally's Dance Party' will be held to raise funds for the South West Mesothelioma Support Group, whilst at the same time raising awareness of asbestos related cancer.

The event is due to be organised by mesothelioma patient Wally Wright and members of Mesothelioma and Asbestos Awareness Plymouth and South West (MAAPS).

Tickets cost £6.00 (to include refreshments) and can be purchased on the door. There will also be a raffle.
