Britain’s tribute to Afghanistan heroes

The Royal British Legion is calling on veterans of the Afghanistan conflict to take part in a parade that will follow the Service of Commemoration being held to mark the end of combat operations at St Pauls Cathedral next Friday 13th March.

Following the conclusion of the Service, six detachments of Serving and ex-Service personnel will process from St Pauls to the Guildhall.

Marine A launches appeal on conviction

Marine A, Sgt. Alexander Blackman from Taunton has launched an appeal to overturn his conviction and sentence for the murder of an injured insurgent prisoner.

Plymouth Royal Marine found guilty of murder of Afghan

A Plymouth based Royal Marine has been found guilty by a military court of murdering an injured Afghan insurgent in 2011.

The marine, a sergeant who can be known only as Marine A, faces a mandatory life sentence for the shooting of the unknown man in what the prosecution described as "an execution", in Helmand Province in Afghanistan.

'Portrait Bench' unveiled by Ben McBean

Former Royal Marine and double amputee Ben McBean unveiled the new ‘Portrait Bench’ in Plymouth’s North Cross today.
