A Second World War veteran from Yelverton has celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family.

Frank Greep left school at the age of 14 and spent four years training as a motor mechanic before joining the Royal Navy at the age of 19.

Macmillan Cancer Support has revealed that in 2016 it gave out grants totalling approximately £124,8001, to Devon residents who were struggling with the financial hardship that cancer can bring.
