Local Vauxhall retailers, Evans Halshaw Plymouth and Saltash, are proud to announce they sponsored a charity golf day in an attempt to raise much needed funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

The two retailers held the charity golf day last month at Borringdon Park Golf Club where they also entered a four ball team to part in the 18 hole stableford, and raised a huge £1,700.

St Luke’s Hospice is an independent hospice charity that provides specialist end of life care to residents local to the Plymouth and the East Cornwall area. As part of the event, Evans Halshaw Plymouth and Saltash supplied an impressive prize table as well as held competitions for both the longest drive and ball nearest the pin.

The team from Evans Halshaw Plymouth and Saltash were also on hand to monitor the day’s proceedings as well as encourage golfers. Not only did they keep a close eye on performances and scorecards, but the team also showcased a number of Vauxhall models, including the New Insignia and all-new Crossland X.

Jon Carne, Dealer Principal of both Evans Halshaw Plymouth and Saltash, commented: “We are delighted we were able to be a part of this special day and to raise £1,700 for such a deserving cause is just fantastic. The golf course always seems to unleash everyone’s competitive side and so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know more of the community on a personal level.

“We’d like to say thank you to all the golfers that took part and supported St Luke’s Hospice. The charity is a remarkable cause so we are thrilled to be able to contribute towards the brilliant work it does and help raise vital funds.”
