Where to recycle your real Christmas tree

Plymouth residents will once again be able to recycle their real Christmas trees and get a free bag of wood chippings.

Following the success of last year’s trial scheme, wood-chipping machines will be on a mini tour of Plymouth to dispose of Christmas trees responsibly.

You will be able to get a free bag of wood chippings for your garden made from your old tree.

Councillor Mike Leaves, Cabinet Member for Street Scene and the Environment, said: “Teams from the Council will take the machines to locations across the city from Monday 8 January 2018 to make it easier for residents to get rid of their real trees once the festive fortnight is over.

“And for the keen gardeners, there is also a chance to grab a bag of free wood chippings in return. Any unused chippings will then be used in shrub-beds across the city and offered to local volunteer gardening groups and allotment owners.”

Wood chipping machines will be at a number of car parks across the city. The locations, dates and times are as below:
