Stagecoach South West have partnered with local councils to introduce specific school and college buses from the start of term across their South West network.

With students returning to schools and colleges from early September, many parents will be anxious to ensure their children can continue to travel to school and college safely. As well as upping cleaning measures and introducing social distancing on board buses, the bus operator has added extra dedicated school buses and drivers, to ensure the back to school rush is safe for all.

Stagecoach has worked closely with schools and local councils across the network to offer extra buses so school children will only be travelling alongside their peers. The dedicated school buses will also have dedicated drivers, who will exclusively be driving school buses. The buses are cleaned regularly to keep everyone safe while travelling.

The special school buses will be marked on the bus screen so passengers can see which bus is dedicated to school travel and which bus is a normal service vehicle.  With the additional buses running for schools, the normal bus services there will have plenty of space for social distancing. The dedicated school buses will be running at scheduled times and marked clearly, but the drivers will be on hand to help with any queries.

Special buses will be in place ready for the return to the classroom with school children across the south west benefiting. From Dartmouth to Dawlish there are additional buses to keep children safe. Students travelling to Exeter, South Devon, Petroc and Bicton College will all benefit from the additional buses.
