Saltram has a long history of welcoming dog walkers, and the parkland has long been a great place to enjoy a stroll and a breath of fresh air while dogs have the freedom to explore off the lead. Between January and the end of February 2016; dog walkers will also be able to bring their four-legged friends on a lead in to the garden to explore. There are many paths and areas to wander in this large and spacious garden with garden buildings and sculptures dotted throughout. “This is a whole new experience for the dog walking community and we want to make Saltram garden somewhere everyone can enjoy along with their dog,” says Fiona Macmillan, Visitor Services Manager. “There are many gorgeous spots within the garden during the winter season including the Orangery, castle folly and Lime Avenue. Visitors can also enjoy the snowdrops coming out in full bloom as well as spotting some of the first daffodils this year.” Fiona is requesting that owners are responsible with their dogs, keeping them on a lead and using the dog bin, while enjoying the garden.
