Families are being invited to get into nautical fancy dress for a day of fun pirate capers at Devonport Library on Saturday 6 October.

Hosted in partnership with the River Tamar Project and supported by Working Links, the Pirate Day is one of the highlights of the It’s All About the River film festival, running from 12 September to 12 October.

The event will get under way at 10am with crafts and a treasure hunt around the library, followed by a sea shanty rhymetime for under-fives at 11am.

Captain Jacko Sparro will be making a special appearance at 1pm to award prizes for the best pirate attire before everyone sets sail with Kermit and Miss Piggy for a free screening of ‘Muppet Treasure Island’ at 2pm.

Devonport Library is located on the ground floor of St Aubyn Church in Chapel Street. Entry to the Pirate Day is free and everyone is welcome.
