Grapevine Local is today being launched in Devon, giving local people the opportunity to join this free online hub and play an active role in making their community the best place to work, live and play. The launch has been designed to coincide with World Values Day on 15th October 2020, an opportunity to think on our most deeply held values, one of which is the way we interact with those around us.

Grapevine Local, an app and a website, is designed to help businesses to reach the people who are interested in what they have to say. Companies across Devon are invited to sign up for free. Community is key to the success of the new online service and so the founders have developed areas for support, help and chat. Grapevine Local then connects the people who need services with Devon businesses who provide them.

Alan Greaney, Founder, explains, “Grapevine Local is a website and an app that allow you to share community news, buy and sell services and products, and support those that need extra help. It’s been designed to be relevant and to give you the information you want to find. For local businesses it’s the place that they can use for free to connect to potential customers. Everyone in Devon is welcome to join and it’s completely free.”

All businesses in Devon are invited to take a look and make sure their listing works for them. Grapevine Local connects people and helps companies to build their reputation among potential customers.

The website and app are is easy to use, and will launch with a range of different community-based information including:

  • Allowing people to find a local club for their hobby
  • Advertising goods and services
  • Promoting local shops, pubs and hotels
  • Selling unwanted items
  • Offering to help neighbours or vulnerable groups during the pandemic
  • Getting involved in a community-focused initiative such as litter-picking
  • Asking questions if you are new to the area or are looking for a particular business
  • Find a local club for your hobby

Alan Greaney, Founder, adds, “Community has never been more important, more relevant and more life-affirming than right now. It is into this environment that we are so pleased to launch Grapevine Local, a project that has been two years in the making. We want to help businesses in the community to celebrate all they are doing to make a difference. And for people living in Devon we’d love for Grapevine Local to become their go-to space to find out what’s going on, what groups they can join and how they can help support their local community.”
