The Met Office has issued another yellow warning for the South West as the forecast for the next few days continues to bring rain and the risk of localised flooding to the region.

The Met Office said: "Further heavy showers are likely through the rest of Tuesday and particularly overnight into Wednesday, when organised bands of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move northeastwards, accompanied by squally winds.

"The public should be aware of the risk of disruption, mainly due to localised flooding, but also where squally winds occur."

The latter part of the week continues to look gloomy with more heavy rain possible on Thursday and Friday.

"Another band of rain is expected to move north across southwest England during Thursday evening, turning heavy and accompanied by strong southeasterly winds," says the Met Office in its warning for Thursday.

For Friday, it forecasts: "A band of heavy rain already affecting southwest England will move northeast during the first part of Friday, followed by heavy showers.

"The public should be aware of the continuing risk of localised flooding, as successive bouts of heavy rain lead to saturated ground."
