Police are investigating after laptops and jewellery were taken in a daytime burglary at a Plymouth home.

Offenders broke into the property at Aylesbury Crescent in Whitleigh sometime between 8.30am and 3.30pm on Tuesday 30 June, while the occupier was at work.

They carried out an untidy search of all rooms in the house before leaving with three laptops, a £180 9ct gold wedding ring, a Fossil watch, and various other items of jewellery.

Detective Constable Mike Milton, of Crownhill CID, said: “This incident has left the victim and young family traumatised and very upset. We are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the street at the time of the burglary to contact us.

“I would also remind homeowners to ensure that their property is left secure when they are out. Residents are more likely to leave windows and doors open in the hot weather but this can make their property a target for opportunist thieves.”

Anyone with information to assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference CR/045647/15.
