Hundreds of health and care jobs will be on offer at a series of ‘Proud to Care’ jobs fairs next month.

The job and careers fairs will be held at different locations across Devon over four Saturdays from March 7 to March 28 2020.

The events give those thinking of entering a health or care profession, as well as existing professionals who want develop their careers, the chance to meet many of Devon’s health and care providers in one place.

Attendees will be able to speak directly to employers from a wide range of organisations including the NHS Trusts, Devon County Council, social enterprise, primary care and adult social care. Further education colleges and universities offering health and social care courses will also be available to talk about opportunities they are offering.

People will find out which positions are currently available, and in some cases, be able to apply and take an interview.

Jobs currently being advertised on the Proud to Care Devon website include opportunities for nurses, social workers, care and support workers, occupational therapists, radiographers, physiotherapists, and managers.  The jobs fairs will have information on these, and careers for nursing associates, mental health practitioners, registered managers, health care assistants, allied health professionals and more.

The events are aimed at people of all ages including students.   Entry level roles and voluntary roles may not require previous experience, but applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have the right values to work in health and social care. People who already have some relevant experience and are looking to develop their career are also welcome.

Philippa Slinger, Lead CEO Devon STP at Devon CCG says:

“If you are looking to work and live in Devon there are many opportunities that exist throughout the health and social care sector.

“These job fairs are an exciting opportunity to see just what is on offer and to meet representatives of a large number of health and social care providers in Devon, including many of the largest providers.

“You will be able to find out more about courses, careers paths, training and apply for jobs.”

The jobs fairs will be held from 10am to 3pm on consecutive Saturdays at the following locations:

Saturday March 7, Rougemont Hotel, Exeter

Saturday March 14, Petroc College, North Devon Campus, Barnstaple
