Safer Staffing and HealthRoster teams Our Safer Staffing and HealthRoster teams at Derriford Hospital have been shortlisted as finalists in the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) Awards for the ‘Capsticks Award for Innovation in HR’ category.

This award recognises a cutting edge, creative initiative within any sphere of HR management that has led to improved practice. The effective use of the SafeCare acuity and dependency software, which is linked to our HealthRoster system, has enabled our senior nursing teams to ensure staffing is safely managed to meet the patient’s needs.

Bev Allingham, Deputy Director of Nursing for Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “On behalf of the nursing and HealthRoster teams, we are delighted to have been nominated for the Capsticks Award for Innovation in HR.

“This is particularly special because of the collaboration between the HealthRoster, nursing and midwifery teams across the Trust, leading to improvements towards delivering safer staffing.”

The HPMA Excellence Awards 2017 recognise and reward outstanding work in healthcare human resource management.

The awards will be presented at a black tie celebration at the Grange Tower Bridge on Thursday 22 June.
