Families in St Budeaux and the surrounding areas are being invited to celebrate a new garden in an extremely popular children's centre with Easter fun and games.

Tamar FOLK children's centre is holding an Easter event on Wednesday 16 April from 10am until 2pm to take advantage of its gorgeous new garden for 0 to five year olds and their parents.

The day is free and will include Easter crafts, a raffle and general fun and play for the little ones to enjoy. There is no need to book, families can simply turn up on the day.

It will take place in the newly finished garden, which was completed with the help of the local parents’ forum 'Parasol', who not only rolled up their sleeves to pull out plants but raised £800 to pay for some for the work and equipment required in the garden.

Kerry Wilkes, Community Development Worker for Tamar FOLK children's centre, said: "We'd like to thank everyone in the community who got involved and helped us to create our lovely new garden. It's going to be a great space for children, staff and parents, and we've kept it purposely flexible so that we can host a whole range of activities – providing we get the weather, of course!"

The garden project has taken just under a year and families throughout St Budeaux, Barne Barton, Kings Tamerton and Weston Mill are invited to come and celebrate its completion.
