Dev Con Who comes to Plymouth Guildhall

The Doctor Who Tardis & the dastardly Daleks will land at Plymouth Guildhall

Thousands of people are expected to visit the Plymouth Guildhall this month for Dev Con Who, a Sci-Fi & Comic Fan Event which will run over two days on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September between 11am and 5pm.

Star guests include the 6th Doctor Colin Baker (Saturday and Sunday), Sophie Aldred (Saturday), who played the Doctors companion ACE, Who script writer Andrew Cartmel (Saturday), Torchwoods' Kai Owen (Saturday & Sunday), Bryan Talbot, winner of San Diego Comicon Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Comic Arts" (Saturday), plus a free interview with Bryan known as 'The Graphic Novel Man', Friday eve at Images Night Club. 

There's a chance to meet the team from the official Star Wars Association, which will include Darth Maul, Chewbacca and Stormtroopers and there will be an opportunity to have your picture taken in front of their giant mock space ship.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Doctor Who' and fans of all TV, Film and Comic heroes will be sure to have a really enjoyable day.

Visitors to the event can join the dressed up characters and enjoy their lunch in the Cafe Marvel.

There will be fabulous goods on sale, throughout the four floors of the building, including film memorabilia, toys, comics, jewellery clothing, as well as Video Gaming, Wild West Exodus & Magic The Gathering Tournament.

Stefan Krause, Plymouth City Centre Manager said: “We are delighted that Final Frontier is bringing such a large scale event to the city centre.  This will be a great opportunity for visitors to meet film and TV stars, collect memorabilia and see comic artists at work.

“These events are very popular and look to extend in the coming years. With the theme this year being Doctor Who people will be coming from all over the country and you may even see people in fancy dress roaming the city. ”

Tickets can be bought in advance, from Final Frontier, 132 Cornwall Street, Plymouth, Exeter & St Austell, through Pay Pal to eventsfrontier@hotmail.com or bought on the day at the Plymouth Guildhall.

Entrance is £5 for one day or £7 to attend both. A limited number of pre-book, Early Bird tickets are available at £15. This allows early entry on Saturday (10am), giving access to the memorabilia. The early bird ticket also provides free entry on the Sunday.

Children under eight can attend for free, but does not include the cost of autographs/photographs.
