Janet Cattanach an active user of the community hall, mentioned recently to Santander that the Women’s Institute of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo have recently refurbished their local community hall, but had to borrow funds to complete the project.

Matthew Bishop, Santander, really wanted to help, so on 21 March 2015 Santander Plymouth supported a Black and White dinner event.

Staff helped raise £2,000, a further £1,400 was then matched by the Santander Foundation.

Lady Emma Parker president of Newton Ferrers & Noss Mayo WI said: "We are extremely grateful to Santander for this gesture of support which will give such a significant boost to our fundraising."

Matthew Bishop said: "Myself and my colleagues regularly try to support local charities and schools, we were so pleased that we were able to help with fundraising for the hall as we know how important it is to the community."
