Appeal to find owner of family photographs

Caroline Wetton, of Coventry, is appealing for help in locating the rightful owner of over 1,000 photographs which are believed to belong to someone in Devon.

Caroline was given a bagfull of photographs after they had been found in an old cupboard. Rather than dispose of the photographs she believes they should be returned to their rightful owner.

The photographs date from the early 1900s, through the First World War and to about 1993.

Caroline is so passionate about finding the rightful owner to these historic photographs that she has even begun researching their history and the possible owner herself.

She said: "After going through these and doing a little research I have discovered that they (the owners) live in Devon, but I am not sure where.

"I am looking for David Edmund and Joy Hancock, their children Thomas Edmund and Rosemary Joy. The family lived in Arley, Warwickshire, in 1990.

"David’s parents were Gordon Edmund Hancock (born London) and Pauline Baker who married 1962 in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I believe that the pictures come from David’s grandparents, Monica and Edmund Hancock, as some appear to be of Edmund as a child."

If anyone knows the whereabouts of David and Joy, or indeed if they read this themselves, please contact Caroline at caroline.wetton@btopenworld.com,024 76 451010, or write to Caroline at the following address: 12 Central Ave Coventry Cv2 4DP.
