Appeal after Tamar Bridge road rage and assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following road rage and an assault on the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth.

The incident took place at around 2.08pm on Tuesday 26th April, when a white Peugeot van followed a black VW Golf along the A38 and on to the westbound carriageway of the Tamar Bridge, Plymouth.

The driver of the Peugeot van then proceeded to swerve in front the VW Golf before stopping rapidly.  The driver of the van then got out of his vehicle and assaulted the victim, a man in his 30s who was driving the VW Golf.

During the assault, traffic backed up on the bridge and police are hoping that a number of commuters may have witnessed the incident and can help identify the van driver responsible.

The driver is described as a white man, 5”9 tall, short/cropped fair hair, reddish completion, overweight, wearing glasses and a high visibility jacket.
