The 2017 iPlymouth Charity Calendar is now available to buy at £6 each.

Every single penny will be going to charity, ie. South West Mesothelioma Support Group and Mesothelioma UK - helping support families affected by asbestos related cancer and supporting research into finding a cure.

The condition takes thirty to fifty years to develop. There is currently a national epidemic of mesothelioma which reflects the time lag between exposure to asbestos and the disease developing. There are approximately 2,500 cases a year in the UK and it is predicted this number will continue to rise. Plymouth and the South West are hot spots for mesothelioma with many cases emerging among former Devonport Dockyard workers and labourers.

The calendars are available for purchase in London Camera Exchange in Plymouth (Frankfort Gate), The Macmillan Mustard Tree Centre at Derriford Hospital Plymouth, The Brook Inn at Plympton St Maurice Plymouth, the New Continental Hotel Plymouth, Saltash Community Market, The Ploughboy Inn Saltash and the Sunrise Centre (Cornwall Cancer Care) in Truro.

If none of these options suit, feel free to email james.quinn@plymouth.ac.uk with your address and how many you want. A reply will be sent with the options of how to get them to you and how to pay for them (bank transfer, cheque, cash on delivery etc).

The calendars are A4, great quality and when open and hanging on the wall are A3. They come with a hard-backed envelope, so are perfect as a Christmas gift. They can be posted worldwide in the aforementioned envelope but postage costs will have to be covered.

Many thanks to all the iPlymouth members on Flickr who contributed the beautiful images. Also to our sponsors Wolferstans who have paid for the production of 750 calendars, Redrok UK, who have printed them and provided 250 calendars and a promotional banner free of charge and Martin Luck Group Limited for providing us with envelopes free of charge. Also to Jamie Quinn (cartographer at Plymouth University) for designing and producing the calendar for free in his spare time.

As always, members of the South West Mesothelioma Group are extremely grateful to all for your ongoing support and helping us raise mesothelioma and asbestos awareness.
