Plymouth Dance Academy organised their annual Halloween special dance classes which raised an amazing £165 for CLIC Sargent.

When cancer strikes young lives CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. CLIC Sargent provide specialist support, to help and guide each young cancer patient and their family. We will fight tirelessly for them, individually, locally and nationally, so that they can focus on the important things, like getting well.

Dance students from Plymouth Dance Academy are supporting CLIC Sargent because Carmen Montero, School Principal said: "We have chosen CLIC Sargent again this year because I love children and I wanted to keep raising awareness of the difficulties some children have to cope with"

Carmen Montero planned the classes to inspire the imagination of all her students and asked them to come to class in their favourite Halloween costumes. As well as raise vital funds for the charity, it raised awareness of CLIC Sargent and the support they offer children and young people in their time of need.

Plymouth Dance Academy principal continued: “I am so pleased we have been able to raise more money for such a fantastic charity and the kids did extremely well, hopefully next year we will be bigger and able to raise more money for CLIC Sargent.”

We are the UK’s leading provider of support for young cancer patients and their families. Last year CLIC Sargent supported just under 140 families going through a childhood cancer in Devon alone.

CLIC Sargent fundraising Manager Jordan Anderton said: “We are so grateful to have their continued support and they have done an extremely good job fundraising.  I really hope they feel proud of themselves.”
Jordan continued: “It is always nice to see young people inspiring others to make a difference. The dance group have now raised £265 for CLIC Sargent which is amazing.”

“This could Fund a CLIC Sargent Play Specialist’s time for two days, so that they can help a child prepare for and cope with treatment, by using models, toys and photos to explain what will happen.”
