A year after they pledged to get fit for 2016, The Family Law Company’s Plymouth team has announced the results.

Ten lawyers and support staff took part in two challenges; a ‘fit club’ to help them lose those extra pounds which carried a £1 fee for the regular weigh in, and a pedometer contest with two teams of five going head to head.

The pedometer challenge was hotly contested with the two team leaders, Solicitor Anne Shears and Legal Executive Carrie Laws urging their teams to take as many steps as possible.

When the steps were finally added up, Anne’s team won with an overall total of 18,739,347 steps, with the top score going to Solicitor Derek Jordan who managed an impressive 5,094,808 steps. Carrie’s team accumulated 12,648,907 steps.

Over the course of the year, funds raised by the fit club fee raised £474, with £339 going to Plymouth Foodbank and the remainder for the winning team to treat themselves.

All those who took part managed to lose weight and said they felt a whole lot better for taking part in the challenge.
