CCTV appeal after grandmother and child hurt in robbery

Police have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to a robbery in the Southway area of Plymouth.

The incident took place at the junction of Skerries Road and Alderney Road, Southway, Plymouth, at around midday on Tuesday 23 February.

The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was pushing a pram which contained her one-year-old grandson when her handbag was pulled from her, causing her and the pram to fall to the floor. Both the victim and her grandson sustained minor injuries as a result.

The suspect made off on foot with the handbag in Clittaford Road towards Dunnet Road, the bag was later discovered in Southway Lane.

A 20-year old man was arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on bail until the 16th of March, pending further enquiries.
