During the warmer months of the year, there is nothing better than spending time in the garden and enjoying your own private piece of nature. You will want to be able to enjoy this space from the start of spring which means that now is a good time to start working on your garden for the warmer seasons. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Spring Clean

A spring clean is not just for the home and this is an important step to take after the harsh winter months. This will involve removing debris, mowing the lawn, removing weeds and trimming back hedges - this should already make a big difference to how the space looks.

New Features

You may also want to think about adding new features to the garden to freshen and improve the space. Many people like to add a water feature which can be a great addition but you should also think about adding a vegetable patch as this can give you a fun new hobby, allow you to eat healthier and even reduce your spending.

Social Space

You will want an area where you can relax and socialise so investing in new garden furniture is a good idea. Places like Cox & Cox have a wide range of outdoor furniture types so you should easily be able to find the right items for your garden that will allow you to spend entire days out in the garden comfortably.

Summer-Flowering Plants

Planting summer-flowering plants now will help to bring your garden to life once the weather gets better and this can add visual appeal and colour to your garden. A garden looks much better when filled with beautiful plants and there are many great options to consider.

Wash Greenhouse & Clear Shed

If you grow plants in a greenhouse then you should always wash this down before spring arrives so that it is the right environment for plants to grow. You may also want to clear out the shed so that this a space which is neat and organized throughout the summer.

Take these steps now and it will help to prepare your backyard for the spring and summer months. Spending time in the garden either with friends or by yourself on a warm day is a lovely feeling but the garden often looks worse for wear after winter so it is likely to need some work.
