Most people are only too pleased to get as far away from work as possible after a tough eight hour day.

But not property saleswoman Liz Anning, who loved the houses she was selling so much that she bought one for herself.

Now 40-year-old Liz is benefiting from one of the shortest ‘commutes’ in the south west – a journey which takes less than two minutes door-to-door.

Liz works as a sales adviser at Persimmon Homes’ Saltram Meadow development in Broxton Drive, Plymouth.

Using the Government-backed scheme Help to Buy, she was able to afford a stunning four bedroom townhouse style property, known as The Clifton.

Liz bought in September, moved in in December and now lives in her new home with her husband Nick and her dog.

Liz, originally from London, said: “After moving to Plymouth and meeting my husband from Plymstock, I knew that I wanted to live in the area, so I was over the moon when I heard I was going to be working at Saltram Meadow. Right from day one I said I would buy a house there, and so it proved.

“It’s great to be living so close to work. It certainly cuts down on the travel time!

“There is a lovely little community in a former quarry. I absolutely love it and it’s also helped me to sell the houses as my customers know that I know about the development as I live there myself.”

Liz utilised Persimmon’s Home Change scheme to buy her dream home alongside Help to Buy.

Liz has been with Persimmon Homes for three-and-a-half years and loves every minute.

“Every day is different – and it helps that I am so passionate about the area,” she said.

Saltram Meadow offers a mix of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Jane Cartwright, sales manager for Persimmon Homes Cornwall, said: “I’m delighted that Liz has settled into her new home. It’s a really aspirational development and we have paid careful attention to the architecture, ensuring the homes complement their surroundings.

“With Saltram Park and the River Plym nearby, it makes an idyllic setting and it is easy to see why buyers are rushing to live here. Plymouth is an up-and-coming city and with its many areas of outstanding natural beauty, rivers and amazing heritage, we believe this is going to become the place to be in the next decade.”
