The Clay Building at Redlake in the South Hams will host the inaugural South West Food Festival on 27th August, 2016.

The brainchild of Annette Laurie, Director of LEAP Events, this event will play host to food producers inside the historic building, with cookery demonstrations and children’s workshops taking place throughout the day.  Some of the income from this event will be donated to The Eddystone Trust who are the leaseholders of the building and a charity helping children and young people in the South West.

Food is Fun is teaming up with LEAP Events and building on their past association with the largest food festival in the South West which was moved from August to June this year.

The 2016 World Champion Pasty Maker, Louisa Slee,  will be demonstrating the skills that earnt her this prestigious title and earlier in the morning Chef Collin Periera will demonstrate Goan dishes using locally sourced Brixham fish teamed with his homemade sauces – India in a Jar.

Tamar Valley Fruiterers will be co-sponsoring the event with Food is Fun to bring a wealth of experience and delight to children in their workshops running throughout the day.

Bookings are coming in regularly in this run up to the 27th August and already include acclaimed bakers,  Column Bakehouse from Devonport Guildhall, Branscombe Brewery, Copperhill Chocolates, Feniton Foods,  Flapjackery, Juice Me Baby, Kumbites, Pinnacle Icing, Pizza Emporium, Riverford Organic and Te Cake Patisserie to name a few.

Outside in the grounds will be the Redlake Summer Fayre with plenty of activities for children and adults from pony rides, face painting and inflatables – the normal things for summer, to gorgeous crafts and gifts from local stallholders including Devon Wildlife Trust, Dida Jewellery, Party Ponies and Encore Entertainment.
