Vue Plymouth to form alliance with The Plymouth Fencing Club and train local Jedi

To celebrate the success of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Vue Plymouth will be showing their film lovers how a true lightsabre battle should go down.

On Saturday 11 January, The Plymouth Fencing Club will be set up at Vue Plymouth from 1pm to 4pm, performing some exhibition shows over the course of the afternoon to give film goers a lesson in how a lightsabre should be properly handled. Onlookers prepared to harness the Force may even have the chance to be taught one or two expert moves from the stand-in Jedi masters, if they dare.

In the final chapter of the greatest Jedi story in the galaxy, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega line-up against Adam Driver, as the stars of J. J. Abrams’ crescendo in the battle of good versus evil, marking the climax of the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith. Concluding the Skywalker saga, Rey’s journey continues as the surviving members of the Resistance face off against Kylo Ren and the First Order once and for all.

Vue Plymouth General Manager, James Ashcroft said, “We’re really excited to have the fencing club in. Film lovers of all ages will be able to learn how to battle like Rey and Kylo Ren. We hope the activity will really make the experience of watching the film come to life and feel fully immersive. 

“Film goers will then able to go and watch the film, all within the comfort of our brand new luxury recliner seats, put together with luxurious padded leather and fold-away tray tables – all for maximum personal comfort.”
