The award-winning Soapbox Children’s Theatre is getting ready for Christmas with their latest performance: Elves and the Shoemaker – which is opening tomorrow!  Stiltskin will be sprinkling their Christmas magic on this classic tale with puppets, entertaining characters and foolish behaviour.

Tom, the shoemaker, can only make one shoe - who can help him make the matching pair?  Late at night the little elves creep into the workshop to weave some magic and create some beautiful shoes for the shoemaker to sell.

Join Stiltskin who perform, direct and re-write this fantastic tale, which is on from 7th December to Christmas Eve.  There will be two shows: one for school aged children and one for pre-school children, with simpler language for little ones to understand.  Children enjoy the show in a relaxed atmosphere and get to meet the characters and the puppets at the end.  The independent toy shop and café will be open – where adults can buy a glass of festive mulled wine and watch the magic unfold.

The Soapbox Children’s Theatre has recently won the Abercrombie “People of Plymouth” Award and were Highly Commended in the “Best Community Project”.  Iain Slade Creative Director of Stiltskin said “we are delighted to add these two awards to our “Best Independent Theatre in Devon” award especially as they were voted by the public”.

The Soapbox Children’s Theatre is based in Devonport Park and is the only exclusive children’s theatre in the South West.  People travel from as far as St Ives to Bristol to see a performance by Stiltskin and shows get booked up well in advance.
