Slot machines or tables games: what’s better?

It’s one of the most common questions I hear asked by new casino players: what’s better, slot machines or table games?

I must admit I’m a sucker for slot machines. I love all the snazzy soundtracks, flashing lights and funky animations. And I love the fact that many slots give you the chance to win life-changing, multi million-pound jackpots from just one spin. However, I also know that slot machines are as volatile as they are fast. If you’re not careful, you can end up spinning through your bankroll in a matter of minutes.

For this reason, seasoned casino goers almost always stick to the tables. Table games are far more predictable than slots for two reasons. Firstly, they boast lower house edges, meaning you can expect to win more regularly. And secondly, most rely on skill as well as luck. If you implement a sensible strategy, therefore, you can stack the odds in your favour and make your bankroll last longer.

This doesn’t necessarily mean table games are better though. Ultimately, what’s better for you will depend on why and how you like to play. Looking for fast-paced thrills and the chance to win huge jackpots? Slots are probably the way to go. Want regular returns and the chance to show off your skills? Tables are probably more up your street. I’d recommend trying out a few different slots and tables and seeing which you prefer.
