Launched in 2010, Jerwood Makers Open is an exhibition generated by a call-out from a London-based Charitable Trust. Jerwood asks for proposals from UK creatives who want to make new, radical craftwork in the first years of their career but often don't have the means.

Five artists: Sam Bakewell, Juli Bolaños-Durman, Jessica Harrison, Marcin Rusak and Laura Youngson Coll, were given this chance when selected from 271 submissions. Each was awarded a grant to enable them to develop and tour new work in a diverse range of materials. The winners' unusual exhibits are now on tour to Devon Guild Gallery in Bovey, and the 'Open' will show sculpture and installations made out of chainsaw-carved wood, glazed porcelain, flowers in resin, vellum and beeswax! Visits from study groups and colleges are encouraged.

Exhibition is open 7 days, free entry. 10am-5.30pm
