Following the success of Funky Llama Festival this summer, Theatre Royal Plymouth will be holding the sixth Funky Llama Club Night at Pryzm Night Club on Thursday 17 October.

Funky Llama is Theatre Royal Plymouth’s flagship project that celebrates the creative talents of disabled adults. It is the only project like this in the South West to this scale. It involves large-scale, performing arts and social events as well as increasing the amount of arts opportunities on offer throughout the region. Each event is created by disabled adults for disabled adults.

At the club night, clubbers can expect to be dancing all night long as the evening kicks off at 6pm with acoustic sets followed by DJs, live music and dancing until Midnight. There will also be a chance to get involved in a glitter bar, have pictures taken in a photo booth or try the Funky Llama Cocktails in the Steinbeck and Shaw chill out room.

There will be various dance and music acts on throughout the night including local bands, DJs and dance acts including local band Kind Dinosaur, integrated dance company Far Flung and Drag Syndrome, a fierce drag act featuring queens and kings with Down-Syndrome who are taking the world by storm.

Lauren Flook, Theatre Royal Plymouth Funky Llama Project Producer said: “Funky Llama is back for it’s sixth club night and will be taking over PRYZM Nightclub in true Funky Llama style. The theme this year, chosen by the Funky Llama steering group, is Rock & Roll which promises to rock your night! The club night is an inclusive, over 18s event that creates a safe and accessible environment which celebrates the talents of disabled and non-disabled artists. Funky Llama is a uniquely brilliant night out and this year we have a fantastic line-up of local and national solo artists, bands, DJs and dance acts, including the world renowned Drag Syndrome, a collective of drag kings and queens with Downs Syndrome”

Funky Llama is about everyone having access to making and enjoying a world of music, dance and theatre. Funky Llama invites people to be creative, challenge perceptions and make new friends. It is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
To book call the Theatre Royal Plymouth Box Office on 01752 267222, tickets are £5. There will be one complimentary ticket available for the enabler accompanying each adult with a full priced ticket.
